The Hector Exhibit Centre, together with The McCulloch House Museum, runs a number of educational children's programs designed to teach children about nature, science, and of course the history of Pictou and Pictou County.
Programs run year-round, although some are designed specifically to take place outdoors. For this reason we offer limited programming in the winter months, though these programs are popular and tend to book up quickly, so be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to arrange a trip to The Hector Exhibit Centre and McCulloch House Museum!
Our programs incorporate artifacts, interactive displays, crafts and activities, and are designed to support the curriculum standards of the Nova Scotia Department of Education. Programs can be adapted to meet the needs of different grade levels.
An Educator's Guide, pre-visit materials and activity suggestions accompany e-mail confirmation of programs and tours.
